THE MOTORLEAGUE Takes Home Two East Coast Music Awards
Moncton's very own The Motorleague won a wonderful two ECMA's this past weekend in Sydney to the cheers and support of their fans and peers. The Motorleague not only walked away with Loud Recording of the year award, an award only created last year making The Motorleague only the second band to win this award, but they also walked away with the Fan Choice Video Award for the video to their song "Hymn For The Newly Departed" an award which was voted for by more than 30,000 people in 35 different countries.
“The awards this past weekend were both unexpected and amazing at the same time. I can’t convey how blown away we were, especially with the Fan’s Choice for video, it’s humbling just to think about. What I did learn this weekend wasn’t about The Motorleague but about how amazing the bands in the Loud Category were." Said The Motorleague's singer and guitar player Don Levandier "I made more new friends this weekend and on the Loud Tour than I have in years and we can’t wait to get back out on the road with all of these great bands; although hopefully not all at once, Six bands on a tour is crazy!! What were we thinking? I sincerely can’t wait for the loud tour in 2011 and for the Loud Stage in Charlottetown. We made some great headway for the industry acknowledging the legitimacy of what we’re doing this year.”
The Loud Award was handed to The Motorleague at the Loud Showcase on Saturday at Maxwell's infront of their peers and fellow nominees as well as the cheering crowd at the show, while the fan choice Award was handed out during the live broadcast of the Gala Awards show Sunday night.
The Motorleague can be seen playing this weekend, Saturday March 13th at the Paragon Theatre in Halifax with Broken Ohms, Myles Deck & The Fuzz and Last Call Chernobyl.
